Purana Qila (8 Kms. / 20 minutes) Meaning Old Fort. It is the sight
of the mythical Indraprastha the capital of the Pandavas in the Mahabharta Epic.
It is next door to the Delhi Zoo. Rashtrapati Bhawan (11 Kms.
/ 20 minutes) Designed by Lutyens, where the Viceroy once lived & now the
official residence of the President of India, it is an imposing structure with
340 rooms, constructed high up on Raisina hill. Qutab Minar (18
Kms. / 35 minutes) IIs a five storey 72.5 metre high minaret made of red sandstone,
was began by Qutab-ud-din-Aibak to symbolise justice, sovereignty & Islam.
Three storeys after the first storey were built by his Son-in-law Iltutuish &
last two by Feroz Shah Tuglaq. |
